What if they end up having to choose a less qualified referee, resulting either in what would have been a paradigm-changing paper being rejected, or a seriously flawed paper being published? How will you live with yourself if that happens?

Jonathan -- 11 requests in my lifetime, 2 of which were in the last month and which I'll do next week.
If any journal editors see this, you're in for a drastic increase in referee requests.
