Heh. If you read the comments another fellow blogger lays out all the physics as to why it won't work. But I just thought it was funny that someone pulled together a whole well-designed website for this harebrained idea.
It doesn't matter that it wouldn't work. I love ideas like this, where many people in the world do a thing at the same time, mindful of important things. It's a form of communion. No harm in that.
Yeah physics say it won't work.. but who knows, it might work. It is a great idea, it shows that if we where attacked by aliens, we would probably be able to gather forcer to kill em´ all
Ha! Aliens would slaughter us! Unless they are stupid like in Independance Day, but thats the only way we'd stand a chance. Read Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy to get a real sense of insignifigance
But yeah the Physics don't line up at all. And if we were all jumping up and down like fools we'd be to busy laughing at ourselves to notice the aliens sneak up untill its too late
