I try to keep up with the empirical stuff, but...

I've never turned down a referee request from a journal before. The request from "Science Journal Publication" to referee "Influence of Warp Yarn Tension On Cotton Woven Fabric Structures" will, thus, be the first.

What if they end up having to choose a less qualified referee, resulting either in what would have been a paradigm-changing paper being rejected, or a seriously flawed paper being published? How will you live with yourself if that happens?

You've never turned down a request? Wow! How many requests are you getting?

Jonathan -- 11 requests in my lifetime, 2 of which were in the last month and which I'll do next week.

If any journal editors see this, you're in for a drastic increase in referee requests.

I hope it's not before next week!
